Blackout Cafe

Join the Consultants from the School for the Blind and Visually Impaired (SDSBVI) and experience one of the most meaningful and impactful experiences of the day.  Wearing a blindfold, you will use your other senses to locate your fork, spoon or knife and pour your own drink.  While eating lunch, you will be encouraged to interact and communicate with your peers.  While not possible to walk in another person’s shoes, we will raise awareness of daily challenges in order to help the sighted and those with blindness or a visual impairment feel more connected.
